Find an RV dump station that's actually open

Most dump station lists are years out of date. Ours link every listing to the operator, park or government source, show a last-checked date, and say "call ahead" when we don't know something.

How this directory works

Each city guide lists RV dump stations within about 45 miles, plus overnight parking and propane refills nearby. A listing goes up only after we find it on the operator's, park's or government agency's own page, and every listing links to that page with the date we checked it. When a source doesn't say something (a truck stop's dump fee, for example), we write "Unknown – call ahead" instead of copying a guess from an old forum post.

RV dump station FAQ

Do truck stops charge to dump?

Usually there's a fee, but most truck-stop websites don't publish it, and it can differ by location. Pilot Flying J says Good Sam Club members get discounted dumping fees at participating locations. Until an operator posts a price, our listings say "Unknown – call ahead."

Can I use a campground's dump station if I'm not staying there?

Sometimes. Some parks sell dump-only use (the Town of Bernalillo, for example, lists $15 for dump-station-only use at Coronado Campground), while others limit the dump to registered campers. Check the "Non-guest access" line on each listing, and call ahead.

Is the water at a dump station safe to drink?

Don't assume it is. Many dump stations only have rinse water. The National Park Service, for example, says the dump stations at Lake Meredith have non-potable water. Fill your fresh tank from a marked potable tap with a separate hose.

Can I park my RV overnight at Walmart?

It depends on the store. Walmart's own policy says: "We do permit RV parking on our store parking lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV."

How do you check a listing?

We only add a dump station if the operator, a park or a government agency lists one on its own website, and we link to that page with the date we checked it. Third-party directories can appear as extra links, labeled as third-party. If something has changed, use the "Report closed / wrong info" link on the listing.
